The 360cam could become the first HD camera panning 360 degrees in the world. And besides, it is a French company that was the idea!
The French company Giroptic just funded via the KickStarter website, a project of camera capable of capturing and disseminating photos and videos in HD 360 degrees. The device, simply called 360cam, could be marketed from the end of 2014 at a price of around $ 500 (equivalent to 365 euros).
Three overlapping objectives
This amazing camera has three goals in 185 degrees that overlap and thus can capture the entire field of vision. The images are processed in real time via the integrated before being “glued together” array processors. The videos are guaranteed Full HD (2040×1024 pixels).
Images and video clips can be shared on Facebook and Twitter via the dedicated application. The device can also connect to wireless video surveillance and offer video streaming live to 360 degrees to a computer or any mobile device (Android and iOS).
Accessories should be grafted to the device as a protection for the objectives in the context of use underwater or even a bulb adapter to install a CCTV system at home.
More than 600,000 dollars donated
The project has already raised more than 600,000 dollars in a few days on KickStarter, more than three times the amount initially hoped. The device is available from a grant of $ 249 on the site KickStarter, a discount of up to 50% on the final selling price. The first deliveries are scheduled for November 2014.
Remember the Panono Ball
Crowdfunding sites are a pool of projects in this genre. There are a few months, we had to discover the German start-up Panono, which for example presented successfully, a new camera as a small ball can take panoramic pictures 360 degrees of once launched into the air. We want at least the same success in the 360cam!
